Personnel Department of the Ukrainian Maritime Institute (UMI) is a crewing company which provides recruitment services for sailors. It has a license of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy of Ukraine AB №298093 of 16.03.2007. From 1998 till 2007 “Mys Vostochniy Ltd.” discharged these functions. And after the formation of the UMI in 2005, the Employment Service as a part of the Personnel Department of the UMI continued this work.

In the UMI there is Training and Certifying Center, in which seafarers can undergo training and get all documents, which are necessary for work on board.

The Employment Service of the Personnel Department mans Russian-speaking crews for 5 fishing heavy-tonnage vessels (crew – 80 persons; sailing area – New Zealand) and 12 carrier ships (9 refrigerator vessels, 2 bulkers and a tanker).

The salary of the carrier ships’ seafarers can be raised after each contract, worked in our company. For highly skilled sailors individual approach to the salary question is eventual.

There are all factors, which are favorable for professional advancement. Those seafarers, who want to study at the UMI with specialization in navigation or ship's power plants operation, can have individual academic schedule.
